Those looking for an original story with new ideas and likeable characters, has chosen to "Elf Kiss," by Aprilynne Pike, the wrong book.
The story may sound at first sight quite nice (girl who suddenly becomes a fairy, takes further incredibly good-looking elves and a love story develops), but really it is a rather trite story that is very similar to the fantasy sagas, which are designed along the lines of Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" saga. to follow the characters, especially the main character are so lifeless and predictable that it does not produce truly fun to this story and the story itself does not really reach climax, much less tension is built up.
If you want a simple story for 8 year old who are enthusiastic about fairies and mythical creatures, you can buy this book already, but otherwise I suggest you better not ...
